Wood Memorial - Lord Justice Image Gallery

Lord Justice raced in the 2009 Grade 1 Wood Memorial at Aqueduct Race Track in New York City. Here are some photos I took that day (Taken with a Canon 40D, Canon ESF 17-85mm lens). Imperial Council was really worked up in the paddock, and would not calm down. They had trouble getting the saddle on him, and when they finally he did he really got mad, reared up and toppled over! He didn't seem too much more worse for the ware, but I still wanted to take back any bets I had with him in them (which was most of them). From my view on the front stretch, it really seemed like Lord Justice got demolished in the stretch, but in watching replays, I found his performance more impressive. He hung with the leaders for a few strides before fading. He's a fine horse, and I hope to see him race again in person. Saratoga perhaps?
